We should offer all kids a place just in case. The kopite ones we fool them into thinking they'll turn into first team players, and then crush their dreams by sending them out on loan to chester city on the day they turn 18.

Like most kids round here all I wanted to do when I grew up was play football for us.
I guess if Liverpool wanted you and Everton didn't you couldn't turn it down, but I couldn't imagine myself celebrating infront of the Kop in a Liverpool shirt.

As a kid you just want to play football at the best level you can. I played for both. Enjoyed it more at Everton but went to Liverpool when I was no longer wanted with us. You can't blame lids for joining Liverpool - even at a very young age parents have to make the best decisions possible for their son's 'career'.

Having said that if I have a son who plays for Liverpool in future he will only be allowed inside the house to eat and sleep. The rest of his time will be spent in the garden regardless of weather conditions.
