You know you've won an argument when...

For me, the first person to swear, or has to use insulting language loses the argument.

I disagree.

If you're having some kind of good-natured intellectual debate then fair enough, but in an argument swearing can be ace. Dropping the occasional f-bomb for emphasis works a treat if you slap it next to a very valid point.

But just swearing and doing little else is indeed a clear white flag.

Really? I usually say that when someone makes a ridiculous argument and I don't want to call them whale's vagina.

Again I was being sarcastic with the a-hole comment...but the agree to disagree came WAY too early in the discussion...at least put up a fight FFS.

Haha no not really. This came up as as I posted something about voter suppression on facebook, a republican friend came on and disagreed, when I responded with a factual argument, they came back with "agree to disagree" and "that's what makes this country great, our constitution and our freedom". They didn't even try to explain their side and just gave up and tried to wave the flag. She's not a bad person (I was being sarcastic with the asshole comment in case you weren't aware), I just prefer that if someone gets in a discussion or argument with me they actually have something to back and up and don't immediately default to "agree to disagree". Why get into something if you can't defend your position?

This. If you're gonna have an opinion at least be prepared to defend it properly....

When they say "you always have to have the last word, just drop it!" Which is pretty much, you're right but I won't admit it so I'm just telling you to shut up and if you don't I've won because you're having to have the last word like I just said. This makes me soooo ****ing angry! No prizes for who normally says it.
