First I thought it's just a bs rumour, which will die quickly. Looks like I was wrong - despite winning Ligue 1 title + French Cup he is leaving Lille and joining... yes, Newcastle United. "Toons" and their management have a terrible reputation here (aften deserved), but last summer they've got Cheikh Tiote for peanuts and now Cabaye for just over 4m pounds.
Unless he will somehow totally disappoint in Premier League this looks like a great move for them and Tiote - Cabaye partnership in midfield looks very, very good. Also this is kind of due which can easily play in 4-4-2, without worrying about being overrun.
If we will get Barton and they will get Cabaye then I'm going to... cry.
