Yesterday was unusual in that...

Fellaini gave no support to Jelavic. He didn't win any flick ons, he didn't make any sucessful forward passes, he was rubbish and it was like playing with 10 men. That's why Jelavic was quiet.

Fellaini's job was to take Joe Allen out of the match and he did so perfectly.

We out-manned them in the midfield, overloaded the left side where they were very weak, and forced them to bring on another central defender in the second half. There was very little not to like going forward, until Suarez took Mirallas out of the match.

I wasn't being critical of Phil Neville.I think he is in the team to do a specific job ,he does this well and does it effectively,it is a job that is low key and often goes unnoticed.I think that his performance on Sunday was typical of what he brings to our team on a regular basis.

I don't like being negative about Everton players and I don't think that I usually am,but I don't think Gueye is a premiership footballer.
I think his movement and his reactions are slow.He looks as if somebody has strapped weights to his legs when he is running.

I thought Neville played well on Sunday, except for the 'dive', but I was surprised at how some of the smaller players in our squad did well especially Osman and Naismith.
A lot of people have been critical of Naismith, which isn't undeserved but I think he will come good.
Gueye needs game time, he hasn't had that yet, he had a few decent games last year on the left side but since then he hasn't featured yet. He's young still and needs more opportunities.

Mirallas was just incredible, imperious at times, looks like a brilliant signing from Moyes.
Fellaini did what he does best, held up the ball on the chest, pass, did it well, and another assist.
Jelavic works bloody hard all the time but didn't get a clear opportunity, he would of scored if Naismith didn't get in front of him.

I was pleased though that Oviedo showed signs of potential, even if it was brief, the first real time I've seen at Everton where we have a lot of good talent on both wings.
