Hi everyone, good to be here. I've been lurking around reading some and have to say I'm impressed with your community. I'm a soccer newbie. Baseball is my favorite sport and it's entirely likely I wouldn't be here at all if the Cubs weren't tanking their season for draft picks.

I really enjoyed watching a sport without commercial breaks, nice for the game to get some actual flow. I plan on watching all the Everton games this season and try to learn the game that way. I'd also like to read some general soccer (sorry, football) books and maybe some on Everton history if anyone has any recommendations.

Thanks in advance for tolerating me. I may be asking some questions this season...

Welcome mate.

I, too, was led here by Tim Howard. Only then did I discover I was chosen by Everton.

Also, hello from Milwaukee! I'm assuming you guys have a local Everton America chapter (you can ask @evertonUSA on twitter, they'll point you in the right direction) but otherwise you're more than welcomed to join us at the Highbury in Milwaukee for games.

I actually make it up to Milwaukee fairly often, so perhaps that can happen someday. Good to know the right spot to watch up there.

Welcome. You might want to check out the guys at AJ Hudson's*. How good is Rizzo going to be?

I was pretty sure that the Chicago group met here, but you might want to look them up to verify. I can't find this info any more.

Thanks, I did find the Chicago group on Facebook and they meet at AJ Hudson's. I'll probably try to make it there at some point this upcoming season, but want to watch as much at home as possible early on. I'm a totally newbie and just need to learn the game.

Rizzo is having quite a year. I was very worried about him. Figured he would hit, but maybe not enough to be a star first baseman. He's put those doubts to rest so far. I wasn't as worried about Castro.
