It's all part and parcel of the partisan nature of football. I think there are a lot of footballers I dislike because of the way they conduct themselves on and off the pitch - and some of these more so because of the club they play for. If they play for the RS they are automatically, by default, disliked intensely. If they are mouthy RS that increases it - if they are half decent that too gives me a reason to shout it from the rooftops. Then when they repeatedly stamp on opponents (in a snidey manner), dive, get opponents sent off for nothing (e.g. Rodwell), bite opponents, cheat in World Cup Q-finals and racially abuse opponents (did I miss anything?) then they are persona non grata.
The chief candidates in the present PL in no particular order are:
Suarez, Gerrard, Terry, Anelka, Young, Diouf, Lord Cisse the wifebeater.. and more besides.
Ex-players - Thompson (kind of pity his type now), Hansen (the greedy bell whiff charged a small fortune for the use of his house for an interview), Case (dirty sh1thouse), McDermott (for p*ssing on nurses), Aldridge - for being a bad meff and his treatment of a Tranmere junior (totally unjustified), Fowler, Rush, Kuyt and many more beside. Boa Morte the dirty snide was another .
