A bereavement, as I'm sure many others will have gone through like Yaya (I personally have), doesn't excuse a furore about a birthday cake.Sorry mate but you couldn't be more wrong, if your brothers on his death bed and you get the hump over a birthday cake, then there's some fundamental issues with the working of your brains.
It stinks of petulance and utter arrogance rather than any genuine emotional response to the situation he went through. This is another example.
Yaya is on his day a great player capable of some exceptional football, but from what I've seen (and echoed by Citeh fans) he's temperamental.
Winning a cup is a marvellous achievement in its own right, but I would argue it's certainly part of a greater team effort which he contributed to.
Aubameyang's current form is more of an individual achievement effort helped by others, hence I can see why he personally won the award.
However for Yaya it's just a knock against his self-promoting aura of apparently being the best African footballer. That's why he's acting like a...
Without doubt he's deserved the award in the past, however for me (and obviously others going on the voting) he hasn't this year.
If he doesn't like it then he needs to perform better this season rather than coming out with absolute dross and making himself look foolish.
You could argue that he's looking out for the interests of the African system among others, although I think his form for self-interest dispels this.
