Why is Yakubu not starting? he is our most prolific striker, A proven goalscorer, holds the ball up, links play, and bullies defenders...Is this not what we are currently missing!!! what is going on!?

haha thanks mate, not even on the bench sat!? for me he should be starting with Saha coming from the bench.
Just hope Moyes gives him them minutes on the pitch to bloom again as you say. Surely the start of the new season is the ideal time to do this.

I generally think upfront is the area that we're lacking in atm. When Louis isn't firing on all cylinders we struggle to get the ball into the net. Sure, we get a lot of our midfielders pitching in with their fair share, but as the game against Blackburn proved if you play it around in the middle and theres no one on hand to break their back line and put some efforts in on goal then you're just gonna huff and puff really..

Im hoping Beckford can suprise us all this season.

yakubu shouldve started against bburn ffs- did moyes think theyd let us play pretty football and not get close and physical. we needed some strength in that match- so when will he play yak- probly in the more open games when we need speed and movement

Should have been at least on the bench, especially with a physical team like Blackburn. Might be in the doghouse for some reason I don't know.

Funnily enough, he came off the bench at Ewood Park at the end of last season and pretty much won us the game. He had a great impact that day.
