Yakubu - Does not featuring against Bremen mean it's over?

I like Yakubu. He is strong. Opponents bounce off him. Better than Anichebe I reckon.

I agree! it puzzles me why were even considering selling him he'll always score goals Its only saha upfront for us who is better and half the time he's out anyway !

Keep the yak ffs moyes

Perhaps the value of this is somewhere between nowt and utter bollox, but when at the club shop the other day they were printing a shed load of Yak shirts. At £50 a pop, surely Bill wouldn't allow such potential wastage to occur.

The depressing part is that Yak + Saha on paper is an excellent partnership. One has amazing strength, one has awesome technique, both are decent finishers.

But games aren't won on paper, are they Andy?
No they're not, they're won out on that green thing in front of you and i.

Really frustrating this. It's like having a dying fish in your tank that you can't heal and you can't remove.

If there are no buyers for him well get him fit and get him playing ffs!!

If they want to sell him then chuffin sell him!!

Yak is better than Anichebe, Beckford is better than Yak, Saha (when fit) is better than Beckford.... so it's easy to say sell Yak and/or Anichebe, but nobody wants them.... and why would they.

Give one good reason why any other club would want to buy either Yakubu or Anichebe? and defenders bounce off them can't be a real reason, it's okay bouncing defenders around but if you can't kick a ball straight you're struggling.

Don't know if I agree really, the Yak has been immense on occassion when fit and willing to play. His biggest problem seems to be laziness/lack of motivation and I'm not entirely sure that's just his fault. I still think he could do a good job at Beckford's side, him and Saha I'm not to sure about..

IF he's motivated... and IF he's in shape.. he can still be effective... but those are two big IF's.....

A full season of he and Saha should be a glorious thing... but we know it won't happen.....

Yaks career has been over at everton ever since he fell out with moyes, the man doesnt forget. Its a big if but as ford says above, if fit and motivated i would consider him one of the most potent strikers in the league. He is a natural scorer, just watch his highlights from his first season and hope he can get back to that.
