Eran

Player Valuation: Free Transfer
Hello to you Everton fans!

My name is Eran, and i'm a sports journalist from Tel-Aviv, Israel.
I'm doing an article on Yakubu Ayegbeni, who started his career here in Israel, before he moved to Portsmouth, then Midd. and now he's turning into great success in your team.
I was hoping if you can share your opinions about him with me, some anecdotes if you may have, tell me about the connection between him and the fans, and with the other players and the coach.
It will help me a lot, cause I want to bring also the fans' point-of-view in this story.

Cheers and goodluck against Westham,

Eran.

Like I said, I'm intersting in the connection between him and the fans, how do you see him fitting into the team, his relationship with the manager.
He's been accused in the past of being sometime indifferent when he's not near the ball - do you agree with that?

He's not the sort of player who will run himself into the ground for the team like Andy Johnson. But he is an out and out goal scorer. He gets himself in the right positions and can finish chances. He's our top scorer this season and it looks like he really is hitting superb form.

Fans always love a goal scorer, and as long as he keeps scoring goals, the fans will love him (y) Simple as that really. :)

If you trawl through the Yakubu posts in the forum they will give you all you need, especially the 'Apology thread' When he first arrived he seemd content to stroll round as though his reputation was all he needed, the bulk of fans resented this as our team has a big work ethic. In fairness the lad has knuckled down and works as hard as most for the benefit of the team as a whole and the fans simply adore him. Long may it continue, David moyes, our manager will ensure it does.

Has a great relationship with the other African players Yobo, Anichebe and Pienaar.

Fans were not sure at first but have took him to their hearts chanting "Feed the Yak and he will score"

Thank you all for the comments.

Another few questions I have:

Do you have any interesting story about him off the pitch?
Do you know if he lives in the city?
Does he have a family with him?

Thank you once again.

I've met him (can provide picture if wanted) at the training ground and was very suprised by his attitude, he was a very nice man indeed and couldnt have been nicer to the 3-4 fans who had waited in the cold to meet him and his other players, signed everything which was wanted to be and had a chat aswell, was in no hurry unlike some.

Im not sure where he lives but he doesnt have any family with him, I've read somewhere hes staying with Yobo for the time being?

Yes, he takes the tube to work every day and stops off for two bagels from the same kiosk. This is due to superstition from his religion of black magic.

Do you know if he lives in the city?

He lives about ten miles outside on a farm where he grows his own organic goods and is very proud of his award winning six stone goose.

Does he have a family with him?

He is married, to James McFadden, and they have three children together. All of them speak with a perfect Scottish accent. Their eldest, Ted, has been barred out of Sayers.
