Thanks for the replies but i'm still not sure. I remember fifteen or some years ago ya could rock up with any old photo on a piece of cardboard and travel between Ireland and UK but thought after 9/11 it was passport only! Duck that !

Mate went on holiday with his 1 year passport, when coming back he checked in for his 23:30 flight and it expired before he got back here, had murder with 'em....

"Your Passports Expired"
"It hadn't when I boarded the plane"
"Well it has now.... how do we know it's you"
he held it up next to himself & said "would I go to the trouble of buying the exact same t-shirt"

Flew Manchester to London a couple of years ago with BA. They checked my passport.
