Quite simply, he's the best footballing brain I have ever seen. He just ran games, in similar style to Scholes, where everything would go through him and they'd see the whole picture. His vision and through ball ability is insane

Gutted I never got to see him in person.

A very good player, not a great one for me, doesn't really ever take a risk, and needs an iniesta or messi with him, otherwise he can be very one paced

I disagree mate - but that's football. He's benefitted from having those sort of players around him obviously, but he was there on merit not because he won a raffle to be part of it.

Absolutely sublime passer of the ball, a master of possession and was the foundation of Guardiola's sides.
You don't need to take risks if everything you do is already great.

There's a video I've been looking for but I can't find it. Saw it a few years ago, and it's just a compilation of his insane through balls for 5 minutes.
If anyone knows the one I mean, post it on here. You can't watch it and still think he is just a "very good player".

He's never had the recognition he deserves, which is understandable in a side who have Messi, Iniesta, etc.
