I do have issues with the X Factor but more to do with the exploitation etc of certain people within the shows series. With regards to the music it churns out, to be fair lads, im not sure they are aiming it at middle aged football fans. My 7 year old daughter loves it and loves all the songs and it has opened her up to other artists she may well not have listened to on her Pop Party etc CD'S. She absolutely loved the Queen and Elton John weeks this year and has been playing under pressure etc in her bedroom this last few weeks instead of that damned Frozen CD, so in that respect i have to thank the X Factor. Also although im not a massive fan, my daughter loves being able to stay up a little bit later and watch the X factor and act like the 5th judge and get up and sing and dance to the songs she knows. In that respect i like the X Factor as i get to see my little one happy in her own little world of dancing and singing and the pure innocence of a happy child. That cannot be all bad surely?
I do also think there is a massive bit of music snobbery when it comes to the music that is pumped out. Sure it may not be to mine or your taste but there is definitely a market out there for it and as long as there is, as sure as night follows day there will be more and more series of the X Factor for you people to 'endure'
Personally I like the show, don't like the song though, the fact the proceeds from the song's sales are going to charity and that it was released just a couple of hours after the result was announced is what's pushing it to the top. Sadly that means the likes of the new versions of All Together Now and Do They Know It's Christmas? have been pushed way down, hell I'd rather Uptown Funk stay number one (even though the X Factor was the reason behind it's early release as it wasn't due out till next month) but that's looking unlikely
