x factor xmas number 1

I don't get it, i really don't.

It looks as if X Factor will hit number 1 this week for Christmas with a cover of One Republics song. Well done for the winner for doing that.

Except why is he going to number one? the song only came out last year and it wasn't even popular when the original group sung it, yet it is suddenly worthy for thousands of people to go buy it? One Republic aren't exactly under exposed anyway, with counting stars one of the biggest songs of this year. So why the hell do thousands upon thousands of people go out and download a song they never liked before just because the bloke/woman off the telly is singing it now?

Before this Miley Cirus, Biffy Clyro, Some american singer (impossible).

True that. Surely they could wait a few weeks and release the turbogash cover version in the new year.

Christmas number one used to be a big thing. Granted, most of the songs were terrible, but it was always just a bit traditional, festive fun. Cowell has taken a massive dump on all of that.
 

Viewed by millions who invest about 40 hours of their time and a few bob voting for an individual that releases a single when the public is at its most generous? Not surprising really.

Aye fair enough but what i mean is they didn't like the song in the first place so why now?
