Liverpool had a massively unbalanced team already, way too dependent on the two strikers to outscore the opposition.

Rodgers tried to fix the defence and the midfield to make them more well-balanced; he's just made a hash of it.
Oh defo mate, no doubt. I was talking more generally, Rodgers has presided over a car crash of Blues Brothers proportions.
 
They've replaced superb and talismanic players with dross, that's the issue. If you're going to sell a Suarez or Bale, you've got to replace them with the same calibre. Not necessarily in the same position, but someone who can drive the team and set the tone of play.

I don't necessarily agree, we never replaced Rooney with anyone near his calibre yet did better following his departure. If you sell a world class player you need to at least buy quality players that fit into the team though. I think Spurs and Rs got caught up in trying to sign big names (hence Balotelli over Remy for example) and ended up overpaying for mediocrity.
