Is it wrong approach to try to deny ones input (rat/bane) and spread the dough flow into few potential but not so good individuals?

Or should you just be extremely agressive in the market and pay over price for one proven ace?

Correct me f I am wrong but has any team top level team ever gone out and bought 7-8 first team players and it worked out for them

Let the games begin

Spurs seemed to buy about 12 midfielders so not sure what that was all about. They should have broke the bank for a striker. Saying that I thought Soldado would have been better than he's turned out to be. Liberpewl needed to strengthen the squad but they overspent on average players. At the very least they should have looked for a proven goalscorer like Rom or Bony what with Sturridge's injury record.

If we had the money now I'd buy 3 players, a winger a striker and a centre half. We'd be kings of the world.

I think the secret is to not let your team become a one man team in the first place.

Let Spurs and the RS be a lesson to any team heading that way.

Both clubs devised a system of play in which the one man team became the alpha and the omega......and when he skedaddled there was no Plan B.

Just a bunch of journeymen fetched in at over inflated prices.

It seems to me one of the problems at both Bale FC and Suarez FC is that the manager doesn't have the say in transfers.

They have "directors of football" or a "committee" to select the transfer targets.

Two out. Two in.

Just going out and buying lots of players.

Neither team had a choice, really. As @Khalekan has pointed out, it's better to be preventative and not rely on an individual in the first place. But Bale and Biter agitated for their moves and, with Liverpool and Spurs struggling to attract big names these days, the ready made players they needed to plug their respective holes just weren't available to them. I have to say, I expected the whoppers to take a hit but nothing could have prepared me for how bad they are. And it's not looking like it will get better any time soon. It really is a great time to be alive.
