Oh is this how it's happening now. I get it. Cates is a deranged lunatic, an absolute horror, and if she ever finds a way to worm her way back into Parliament then we're all utterly stuffed (not specifically because of her, but because some sort of Christianist wave will be sweeping the nation).
She was managing to take exactly the wrong lessons from some unassailable facts just yesterday, insisting that the reason why "The West" has diminished since the immediate post-war era wasn't in fact the destruction of the 'social contract' and how unfathomable sums of public cash are now being hoarded by her rich mates, but instead fell back on her niche Tory mantra that the welfare state needs to be abolished, women should lie back and think of England before popping out sprogs like a machine gun nest, and of course ban all the immigrants.
We can sum it all up in this disgusting passage, from an article she wrote defending JD Vance in his recent spat with the UK:
"We took the hard-won benefits of Western democracy like tolerance, compassion, liberty, and care for creation (just throwing her anti-abortion stance in for no reason) and disconnected them from their Judeo-Christian moral foundation, re-branding them into vacuous ‘British values’. The doctrines that derived from these (multiculturalism, social liberalism, eco-zealotry, and critical social justice theories) have undermined social cohesion and national identity. Meanwhile the ongoing arrival of thousands of unvetted foreigners on small boats, and the use of ‘human rights’ protections to prevent the deportation of hardened foreign criminals, demonstrate that we have even given up on domestic security."
Nothing more Jesusesque than telling some of the most desparate and needy people to F off because there's no room at the inn, is there Miriam?
