Player Valuation: £6m
.............. Swap Leighton Baines for Wayne Rooney?

Not sure if this has been mentioned before or not as I have not seen it - so apologies if it has

We would probably
- have to stump up some case (say £5m)
- pay more wages than we could afford (Rooney = £200k, minus Baines current £50k, is an additional £150k per week).

Would it be something that either club, or player, or us mere fans would consider a good deal?

Personally - I would rather keep Baines, but interesting option if it's a goer.

Yes. But there is literally no way on earth that could happen, unless Wayne Rooney found it in his heart to take the biggest wage cut in history.

Yes, but he'd have to take a massive wage cut which I don't think he'd do and there are other issues with his ambition and the club matching that re: Champions League football. In a perfect world 100% yes but there are momentous stumbling blocks which probably make it impossible.

Only if they throw in RVP as well & we'll give them Vic as a sweetener, after all Moyes has total faith in Vics ability as a striker, if he didn't he'd have had him tracking back.

No, based on the cost and the fact that I don't think Rooney will age very well.

no chance, rooney so overrated on here and in the Media in general, bainesy has contributed more to the team than he would have

We wont need to give them Baines. If the market sat right, Rooney would be more than happy to come here, for a wage that we can afford aswell.

I think he's still got a few good years left.

cant see it mate... if he cant keep in good shape and fitness under fergie then there isn't much chance for anyone else, especially if he moves from united. hes always had a problem with this and as he gets older its going to be even worse

he''ll be one of those that plays around 20-30 games a season, bang a few stunners in, please the crowd every now and then... but a bit of a luxury player for any team that can afford him
