Yes. Have them in June ffs, they are absolutely pointless, boring, and are a nuisance to clubs.

Nobody cares about international football unless it's the WC or the Euros.

This would be a really good idea. Stop having international break and the season would finish about 6 weeks earlier. Then have a run of international qualifiers over the course of a few weeks at the end of the season.

Agree with someone above by the way, get rid of friendlies, unless they involve playing a team from another continent.
Think the issue is the friendlies are against more competitive teams than the qualifiers. So you could say we need the friendly games to compete when it comes to the tournaments.

Better to automatically put teams into tournaments based on FIFA rankings then let the San Marino's of this world battle it out for extra places.

Came straight in on P11;
Should we have binned the FA Cup when Dave-I broke me leg y'know-Whelan, broke his leg, or Bert Trautmann his neck, or Chalmers...or are we over reacting because it's us, Coleman...erm Oviedo?

Put your heads back on, then give em a wobble to check they're on nice and tight - turn your (some of you) outrage to sympathy and hope for a full recovery...it'll do more good.

Edit; that said there's too much International football, we binned off the Home Internationals for interfering with the League bread and butter

Might be wrong here, but I have always thought that the majority of Evertonians have never seemed interested in Internationl matches, especially England games, World Cup games at Goodison were a bit different, but that was another age, before mass exposure by tv, I for one wouldn't cross the road to see an International game, thoughts ?

If I am honest with you Degs, I think the Home Internationals were binned due to lack of interest more than owt else :(

I mean, they had stopped playing them during the season and had a mini tournament staged over a week and starting seven days after the F.A. Cup Final for a few years before bowing to the inevitable.

But they had stopped cluttering up the league season.

And you know, when I was first following football in the 60s, they held Home International fixtures on a Saturday afternoon in October and a full programme of domestic fixtures took place at the same time.

From memory, a club had to have over five players called up in order for their fixture to be postponed :)

I am sure some of the arl arses.....sorry, venerable and much cherished posters ......will remember that as well.

I think you missed the joke Joey mate, England is an international minnow :p
I know we are crap, and the first decent team we play we get beat , but having part timers in the groups of certain unknown minnow countries with part timers playing is to fill FIFA'S coffers just bulking up the tournaments unecessarly
canceling a league programme to play san marino etc- ridiculous!

I've been advocating that for years. Better for club, better for country as the players aren't shuttling back and forth between two programs with different managers and tactics.

I see to remember it was 2, but it wasn't compulsory, you had to apply, some did some didn't, depended on if you felt good enough (arrogant enough) I suppose.
Then as now some worked the head on it, they would have 1 first team player playing International Football (Vernon) but another in the reserves (Hill; NI) who was nowhere near team selection, but Harry still got it cancelled...bet Koeman wishes he had the option.

Every two years, we get a spell of two weeks, where there is three games a day, which spans the whole evening and no watching Corrie....

Oh and the magic of it ala Wales is rarely replicated on a club scale.

They need to sort the International schedule out though, and do like 3 internationals at the end of each season, instead of one, to minimise club distraction.
