Player Valuation: £25k
I look at all the teams around us spending at the minute and to be honest, im kind of glad were in position were in.
I know that sounds mental, but when I think about all the teams bellow us that have spent money and added to there squads,i.e Villa, Stoke, Sunderland, Fulham, Wolves.. what are they aiming for??
I cant see any of them clubs finishing above us. There spending to push into the top half.
over the years we have seen so many players strongly linked and then join other clubs and im always gutted, to then see that they have gone on to do absolutley nothing, and i expect charles nzogbia to be no different.
I can guarantee that we will finish no lower then 7th. Our team is alot stronger then all them teams ive just listed.
then I think, who could we buy that would stroll into our team for less then 10 million?
Dont think there is many. Moyes may be a few things but he is not daft. he is very calculated and self assured about what he does.
say we brought Nzogbia, say we got a decent striker. where do you all honestly think we would finish?? I dont think we would fininsh any higher then 6th. We can not compete with the big boys. and i think kenwright and moyes know this more then anyone.
I think all we are trying to do at the moment is hold on to our top boys and have a couple seasons like last couple and just weather the storm. ride out this crazy finacial time we are all in and at the end of it have a lot more of the debt paid off. and be in position were we can then look forward.
we have a few old boys in team like neville, distin, howard, cahill, but there all players i believe that in 2 years time we can easily replace.
this is no 'team kenwright post' (i think the bloke is a slug),
but what im saying is we have got reasons to be optimistic. We are a fantastic football club with (in my opinion) the best fans in the country by far.
so lets get behind the team instead of moaning all the time and get 3 points tomorow. COYB's

He underestitmated qpr. We dominated game. They create one chance and score. Arteta saha n fellaini werent fully fit. Do you really think he wanted to start barkley and rodwell on the wings?

Is this the plan, to ride out the present in the hope that the famed 'burst bubble' happens?

How long have we been talking about this bubble bursting? Roughly 7 or 8 years?

clearly the reason we are the only team not buying anyone is because our squad is so good we cannot find players to improve upon the ones we have.

I think the squad needs something different, either up top or on the wings. And a little bit more depth would be good at the back.

I'm not going to bother suggesting how that is accomplished, as there are zillions of threads about it already.

The difference between our current squad and our squad with two or three good additions in it is around two or three places max.

In short, the difference between 10th and 8th.

BUT... a few additions would stop the unlikely but still possible complete collapse of our squad due to injuries and bad form to finish 16th or something.

Just to refresh our memory:

To spend

Verb - 'to pay out, disburse, or expend; dispose of (money, wealth, resources, etc)'

Moyes is a plank. I would have played a 10 year old youth player on the wing, rather than Rodwell. Why isn't he playing Arteta there, rather than as a deep lying centre midfield player who just passes it sideways while Fellaini pushes up?

Moyes is losing the plot and whoever mentioned about his over reliance on 4-5-1 hit the nail on the head. If you want to win games you have to set your team out to attack the opposition. It's embarassing that Moyes best tactic against weaker teams, when we're at home, is to play a defensive system and hope we sneak a goal whilst employing Beckford as a lone striker.

Beckford has never played as a lone striker before. He's clearly not suited to the role and it seems that everyone other than Moyes can see it. Unlike some people who don't rate Beckford, I do. I think he's a good player being used badly. Give him a strike partner like Saha and I think you'll see a different player. He scored 10 goals in his first season, being asked to play a role which is alien to him. I think that's a promising return for a debut season in the top league, without a strike partner.

You may well be right. He isn't showing any development as a manager. He's had a long time in the job and the team has been going backwards for the last 2 years. We have become a defensive, unimaginative, and predictable outfit.

Yep. I keep on hoping he's going to employ more positive tactics but I'm no holding my breath.
