sort of the same as the playing nice football and being mid table or playing dreadful but winning and getting champions league argument. I can't believe people are even contemplating playing in the Championship over the Premier League. One of the better pieces of Everton's history is that they are one of only 7 clubs to play in every PL season and are one of the longest serving top flight teams (but have spent more season in the top division than any other team). Obviously none of that has to do with trophies, but you want to be in the running for the best trophies every season. It's competitive football, not semi-competitive football. We are a top-flight team, not one of these yoyos or flat-track bullies.
