Worst Transfer Window Ever?

Player Valuation: £20m
This has been a hugely frustrating transfer window so far (it hasn't closed yet), but this being Everton there must be an even worse one. What was the absolute worst transfer window in terms of losing a key player, getting no players, getting a last minute terrible player, having a great player fail a medical, having a real exciting link turn out to be jarg, etc?

Four in, nobody we want to keep out the door, some of our McCarthy and Kev (who most thought was out the door) signed up on ling term contracts, we've still got the majority of our 'war chest' intact, AND bobby is still looking for three players for positions we all agree need filling.
Worst window? Not by a long way, frustrating? Yes they all are when we're waiting for transfers to drop and the fans have no clue who were going to sign.

Warchest??? Is this the same thing Moyes apparently had?? It's like the elicit holy grail.

not the worst. but definately one of the more frustrating. even if we sign 3 players late on, we are weeks behind the other teams that have done their business and got the team organised with new recruits. were even more behind if we sign foreign players, who will undoubtedly take time to settle in. 2nd half of this season will probably be our most productive on the pitch. thats IF we sign anymore players. we could be in trouble by then or langushing miles behind 5th or 6th place...

someting tells me martinez would be happy as it stands. which i think would be a huge mistake. hope im wrong tho

This!

Most transfer windows under Moyes were far, far worse

2010/11 stands out in my memory as particularly poor, where Jermaine Beckford was our biggest and best signing with Magaye Gueye, Jan Mucha and Joao Silva making up the rest of our incoming purchases then in January we picked up Apostolos Vellios and sold Pienaar. So no in comparison to that I don't think having a top tier young talent that walks straight in to the team in Deulofeu, a solid squad player in Cleverley and two solid prospects in Henen and Holgate coming in with a few weeks left of the window counts as the worst window ever, no.

I was going to go with 'war purse' or some other much smaller cash container but seeing how we are supposedly interested in players totaling the £20M Mark I thought I'd give Bobby the benefit of the doubt.

Will wait and see.

I heard someone lifted the lid and looked inside the war-chest. There was a bow-and-arrow, a DP (Drill Purpose) Stengun, an Ordnance Survey map of Frome, a Swiss-Army knife, some hardback and Kendal mint cake, and an assortment of tinned rations, including sausage-and-beans, curry, and chocolate-and-sweets.
