Worst thing about weddings

Me and the missus are currently planning our wedding, we change every week, at first we were just gonna go to Gretna Green the 2 of us, but then everybody moaned and wanted to come, we ended up with 25 people............ Then we looked into venues closer to home, even a cheap place was costing us anything from 4k- 10k and that was just the venue.

We have a wedding fund which we are trying to save up in, every year I pay for my Season Ticket with it, we need a new boiler, basically its just impossible to save for it and the idea of getting in debt and paying for the day for years to come makes me vomit.

Our current plan is to just get married in a registry office, just the 2 of us again, but when we have told people, they have started moaning again. Wish there was a Las Vegas style place where you could just walk in and get married without all the hassle.

Thankfully the missus is the same as me, we just want to get married as a commitment to each other, all the other crap is just worthless!!!!!!!!!

The reception was in the Farmers Arms in Frankby and they got a late licence for the night ( think it was 2am )

It was one of the best weddings I`ve been to, the pub was full and bouncing and the whole thing from start to finish cost a couple of grand, that`s inc food and the DJ.

The kids all had a great time too, as the pub has a massive beer garden with a big play area out the back.

Unfortuntately I think the Farmers has been " gastroed " now as it`s changed name and been done up.

Small one, all very informal - I figure a lot of people lose sight of what they want and get caught up in what they think/is expected.

That`s tragic, it was a cracking " proper " pub and well patronised too.

Same happened to the lovely pub I described earlier that did our wedding.

They no longer care about the ale (ruddy anonymous doombar is all they have) instead if at least 3 different ones, plus a fiver gets you chips served in an egg cup.

You'd think that would be the end and nobody would turn up, but suddenly its full of the Chelsea tractor set who are more than happy to pay more for less.
