Worst Everton XI the last 15 years

3 of Roberto's signings there. Trying to tell us something are you?

I've never voted once for him to be sacked, I'm all for giving him more time.

Alcaraz couldn't defend to save his life, technically a good player when we are passing it about but he was always out of position.

Robles is awful, he will get another chance in the preseason friendlies to show how much of a clown he is.

Kone for the amount we paid and them sitters he missed against Stevenage. Wow, he beat Barlow's performance against Liverpool that time at Anfield

I agree with two of those three. I called Joel a dud signing but am prepared to cut him some slack as he showed something. The other two were pathetic 'panic' signings as I call them. Going back to your previous club when taking on a bigger job. Not good enough from Roberto that.

Can't possibly add Westerveld or Baardsen, as cumulatively played 2 games.

Otherwise you'd end up with a team like

Westerveld; Bosnar, Said, Gardner, Pistone; Plessis, Peterlin, Arnoux.... and so on.

So i'll go

Simonsen
Cleland Kroldrup Xavier Pistone
Hughes Gemmill Davies Alexandersson
Beattie Kone

Reasons:

Simonsen: Huge fee at time, never lived up to hype and was well, worse than Howard, Martyn and Wright
Cleland: Say no more
Kroldrup: Probably more Moyes, than him, but centre back who can't head a ball? Please (also nearly got all dough back but ah well)
Xavier: Liability, and was frustrating to see him have a world Euro2000, and then come back and be turbo gash, also celebrating like he'd won the league when he scored on his RS debut, gets him in place
Pistone: Dire. Makes you realise how lucky we are to have Baines, Garbutt and Oviedo.
Hughes: WOEFUL player
Gemill: Could easily have been as influential as Carsley, well, if he wasn't [Poor language removed].
Davies: Attrocious player, afraid of the football.
Alexandersson: In there purely for disappointment factor alone, he looked like a coup at £2m, and then flopped disasterously, by no means the worst player, just flattered to deceive.
Beattie: Again, more frustration than anything, Dean Ashton available for £2m, we paid a then record, for an utter whale, who didn't look interested, and was used to having a few 'flare' moments e.g. Gallas Head Butt.
Kone: Again, £5m, decent goal ratio in a bad Wigan team, and yes was unlucky with injuries, but my god, he is hopeless.

Honourable mentions to

Idan Tal, Mark Pembridge, Mark Hughes.

Everton defender Abel Xavier remains in hospital after being left unconscious by a collision with his goalkeeper Paul Gerrard in the team's 3-1 loss to Newcastle.

Never forget that either.
