Awesome, lid.
General thread for the fight for those last remaining World Cup spots!

Uruguay just laid a beatdown of epic proportions on Jordan. 0-5. In Jordan. So, if there was any question, yes Uruguay is going to the World Cup.

Mexico and New Zealand kick off about... Now at Azteca. With Mexico's current godawful form, I anticipate this one to be a lot more competitive. Still tough to see a world where Mexico doesn't qualify, but I don't see the All Whites getting blown out in such a spectacular fashion.

Here's the full list for reference

Intercontinental (Nov 13 and 20)

Uruguay vs Jordan, Uruguay leads 0-5
Mexico vs New Zealand, Mexico leads 5-1

Europe (Nov 15 and 19)

Portugal vs Sweden, Portugal leads 1-0
Ukraine vs France, Ukraine leads 2-0
Greece vs Romania, Greece leads 3-1
Iceland vs Croatia, tied 0-0

Africa (Nov 16)

Ivory Coast vs Senegal, Ivory Coast wins 4-2
Ethiopia vs Nigeria, Nigeria wins 1-4
Tunisia vs Cameroon, Cameroon wins 1-4
Ghana vs Egypt, Ghana leads 6-1
Burkina Faso vs Algeria, Burkina Faso leads 3-2

It's important to note that Mexico has not only changed manager again, it's now Club America boss Miguel Herrera, but that also their squad for these two matches is entirely Liga MX based. No European-based players at all. No Chicharito, no dos Santos, nope nope nope.

In short,

All whites played absolutely blindin in the Azteca in confeds cup in about 98.

got beat by Brazil by a 40 yd wonder goal & a free kick, but nearly equalised in last minute. Played out of their skins & then the full house begged them to do a Haka.

You know how we have that thread about club teams vs national teams going?

Well, Club America could, in fact, beat New Zealand :P
