Toffeelover

Player Valuation: £80m
Watched the game this afternoon on BBC2. What a great game, Spain were 2 up and England fought back to win 5- 2. They played very well, it was good viewing, shows there is a wealth of talent down there in the young ranks. Brewster as well as getting a World Cup winners medal also got the Golden Boot!!!

Spain ended up being humiliated.

looking at the clubs these players come from, City & Chelsea are doing their usual hoovering job of talent.
We did have one rep though ..Lewis Gibson albeit not in the starting team

I'm always suspicious of blues that always single out RS for praise

It amazes me that there are some attitudes out there. It was not about the players my post but the match. So what GOTs even watched the game?

Brewster the star larker or is his real name Liverpools Rhian Brewster.
Nearly every report I have listened to refer to him as exactly that. In some respects some things never change.
Well done to every last one of them.

Have you looked at the U23s by any chance?

That's sort of my point ...... City & Chelsea hoover up a LOT of young players that then fall out of their system and end up at other academies.
Having said that, EFC have a great reputation for bringing players through and the recent success of Davies and Barkley before him does show that there is a path to the first team.
Foden will probably make his City 1st team debut if not this season then next but of the others (including Chelsea's contingent), I very much doubt it

Hold on Milk, Eveton have no been slow in gathering young guns either. What about Holgate, Kenny, DCL, Henen etc etc.

Come off it, praising a young lad because he did well??????? Does it matter he is on our nieghbours books, get over it. Look at the performance of al the team, it was a great game of football.
Did come across a bit funny that you singled him out to be honest in the context of talking about the final. Despite scoring the first goal he wasn't the stand out player yesterday.
Hudson-Odoi and Foden were the best players on the pitch. Foden got player of the tournament aswell as a word cup winners medal.

But yes, Great performance by England. I watched the whole game yesterday and have seen highlights of the other games.
Brewster did have a great tournament tbf and got the important first goal yesterday before half time. The Spanish right back will be having nightmares about Hudson-Odoi I'd imagine and what can you say about Foden? Looks to have it all.

Thought Sessegnon was great going forward but not so good defensively. He let the Spanish winger drift in behind him into dangerous spaces a few times. However you can't be too harsh as most modern full backs are better attacking than defending. And he's got time to get better at that side

Apart from the obvious talent I was impressed by their mental strength. Jadon Sancho would have been stiff competition for Foden in the player of the tournament stakes if he'd played the whole thing. Must have been a blow to see someone of his calibre leave after the group stage.
Then going 2-0 down to what is a very good Spanish team who'd already beaten them on penalties in the Euro final would have seen lesser players wilt. very impressive to keep playing their game. Was weird seeing an England team bossing the game v the kings of tiki taka possession football.

Top notch performance and result. Caps off a fine year for the England development teams.

Yes but they are in or pushing hard at the first team

What do you see at Chelsea or City? All I see is young players being sold off .... Ake, Solanki, Iheanacho to name just three straight off the top of my head.

Cheers mate, so you watched the game as well, does not seem that mant gots did. As for Brewster gave him recognition of winning the golden boot, is that alright.

Great year, 2 world cups and a euro championship as well.

Mate not going get into a brangle about such issues at this time, my opening post was all about what a great game to watch. Did you watch????

Perfectly alright mate.

However, in your first post you clearly stated that you watched 'The Final'. In that context, probably would have been logical to mention That Foden, the stand out player yesterday, was awarded the Golden Ball for the tournament if you're going to mention the Liverpool player getting the Golden Boot.

Not suggesting you're a rs fan but you can surely see how some on here (an Everton forum where we get our fair share of kopite WUMs) might find it slightly suspicious.

Did not know of Foden's award. No intention of singling out players and their clubs just posting on a great game and terrific performances from the young players.
