Woolly Mammoths and the ethics of cloning

A more interesting question. How would you feel about cloning a Neanderthal, and having another human (the word human is open for debate while discussing Neanderthals, I believe they were) species living among us?

So a 'clone' would be born in the same way any other creature is rather than a test tube/Frankenstein style creation?

I think so mate, yes.

So a mammoth would be born by a female elephant.

Wouldn't wanna be that poor pachyderm....

Cloning is nothing more than a toy of the modern era and nothing will ever amount with it. Morally they cannot breed an entire species back from the dead and the time and effort to do that would be astronomical. So anything done will be a pet project and as for the can they survive/adapt argument, by cloning said species you immediatly take them out of their habitat and therefore change everyhting that species of creature has ever known in its existence.

from a selfish persepective i would love to see dinosaurs and the like brought back from the dead but i dont think it will ever happen.
