Looking forward to the game and have been reading the match thread. I love coming to Goodison, proper football ground and great banter in the pubs.

Seems as though some of you guys think we’re getting a bit ahead of ourselves after 2 years of success under Nuno/Fosun.

Sorry but after you have been utter crap for 37 years, nearly going bust with 2 sides of the ground shut down due to fire safety risk and minutes from liquidation, going down to Division 4, recovering under Jack Hayward but being the only example of a club that had money thrown at it and failed to get out of the championship for God knows how many years, getting into the Premier League finally and going straight back down, we then get Steve Morgan!!!!! Build a new stand instead of investing in the team, premier league down to League 1 in successive seasons followed by recovery before Fosun took over.

So, it’s a bit hard not to get carried away, regardless of how sustainable our current success proves to be. Forgive us !!!

We know we’re not Man City, but we have a distinct style based on solid defence, a truly class midfield and pace up front on the counter. Some posters refer to this being parasitic - well its a massive improvement on what we’ve seen in previous years and we’ve bought in to it as a man, atmosphere at Molineux is awesome. For Blues fans who think we’re not entertaining - I remember Gordon Lee bringing teams to stink the place out in the 70’s, and Moyes was pragmatic to say the least.

Apparently before last season, the last time Wolves won at Goodison was in 1979.
Andy Gray’s debut, scored in a 3-2 win. I was there, still remember the punk rocker with a green Mohican in the corner who wanted to kick 7 shades out of us !!!

So - please cut us some slack, we have years of catching up investment wise before we will be a “big” club, but we’re enjoying the journey. Good luck for the season, just not for tomorrow!!

Question mate, what do Wolves fans make of this Europa league? are they happy to be in it? A lot of Everton fans are split on this, a lot of us hate it and really dont want to be in it but other feel like we need it if we want to progress.
It will ruin your season, but i just wonder are most Wolves fans happy to be in it and experience European football again?

Back in the 80s at the time of your tumble down the leagues.
You played us I think you were already down yet you still took a decent support here .
So fair play.
Just a question.
That new stand looks out of place like that one did on the 80s .
Will you ever finish it .

We are absolutely thrilled to be in Europa to be honest. Sold out all 3 home games in the preliminary rounds and the qualifying group draw gives us some great away cities to visit. Our squad is small and we are trusting Nuno and our great medical team to get us through what will be a very difficult run through to Xmas.

Most of us will be more than happy finishing around half way or just below in the Prem if we could have a good run in Europa. Getting out of group stage would be immense, and maybe Fosun would open the cheque book in January window.

Our lack of success since 1980 means it’s a real achievement for us. In the 70’s we got a few UEFA cup runs, beating the likes of Juventus. Great nights, special atmosphere.

In my opinion Everton should be targeting Europa and embracing it. You have the financial backing, the support and new stadium coming along, can only help you attract even better players than you have now and no reason why you couldn’t go very far in the competition. Understand you would want top 6 first maybe, and Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal are vulnerable, but it’s likely that you’ll get 5/6th first rather than 4th, so at some stage you’ll be in Europa anyway.

Put a top class striker in your team and you’ll be a real threat in my opinion.

Enjoy your visit tomorrow but not the game obviously, safe journey mate.

I was at that game you mentioned, Andy Gray was getting a load of stick from us for being a waste of money, whatever happened to him?

Just faded away after he left us, ne

Only player I knew who would put his head in where most players wouldn’t put their foot!! Loved the guy, and think he did a pretty good job for you. Disgraced himself by paying for West Brom for a season I believe, but we forgive him!!

New stand is a bit ridiculous to be honest, a Steve Morgan Redrow special. Roof doesn’t cover people in the lower tier, they get soaked. And God knows why they put a wine bar in it, it’s Wolverhampton for gods sake. Should have rebuilt the 40 year old Steve Bull stand along the side where away support is housed, its 30 yards from the pitch.

Plans to increase capacity to 40k include a much bigger South Bank in line with Spurs/Dortmund and our new owners seem serious about it. That’s great, but to be honest we’d prefer team investment first mate.

Remember seeing Wolves at Goodison. Always looked forward to that fixture. Stan Cullis, Bert Williams, Johnny Hancocks - then my memory fails! Slater?

Derek Dougan, John Richards, Dave Wagstaffe, Kenny Hibbit, Frank Monro, Willie Carr, Mel Eves, ......then we got crap for a few years after the 70’s and early 80’s !!!

They were a bit after my time. Unfortunately, my Dad's job moved us from Liverpool to Leeds in 1951. Leeds were (old) second division then.

Wolves have been my "second team" since I were a kid (kids are allowed to). I don't follow them much anymore, other than checking out their results and being pleased when they do well. I remember the days of John Richards, Kenny Hibbitt, George Berry and Andy Gray. I've seen their fall and rise. You've certainly had a barren time.

Hope you do well, but not today. ;)
