i feel sorry for the guy thought he had a good season for us what did he end up with 9 goals i cant see any of our fowards getting that this season. I Wish we had kept him i can understand yakubu he wanted out but becks didnt.
 

i think with the type of player he is i think he is worth at least 9 points to us thinking on last season the guy didnt want to go im more bothered about these sort of players than your arteta's and Yakubu because i think becks wanted to stay
 
Yeah, he was quick as well and scored some important goals. Boss goal against Chelsea too. I agree that he wanted to be here too, and far better than Anichebe.

But his touch was horrendous and we got £4m for him a year after signing him on a free - if we had any money to spend he wouldn't be someone you'd want in your team.
 
I would have kept Yakubu over Beckford. I think if Moyes had just played the guy instead of being so stupid about the whole thing then we would be in a much better position. Look at how many goals he's scored for Blackburn, and the sale only got us what, 1.5 million ?

Ridiculous. 5 goals in 7 games ffs !
 

if Yakubu wanted to stay id rather keep him but he didnt while becks did so thats why im saying becks looking back on last season he would have come in handy this season thats for sure. Did we really get 4 m im not convinced we got that much
 
I was gonna post that but I thought it'd be a bit off topic.

Yakubu was absolutely boss when we beat Liverpool 2-0 at Goodison, yet he got dropped to the bench and given less playing time than Victor Anichebe. Not surprised he wanted to leave, I'd want to kill Moyes if I was him.
 

Probably a jarg rumour but I heard Yak was after a big new contract, pursued it after the Stoke game season before last when he got the winner and we told him where to go, he had to show some consistency, and he got the arse. Same thing after the Liverpool game where he was unplayable apparently, and that's where him and the club fell out.

Tell me if I'm wrong like.

Don't know about Beckford. He gave us some of the highlights of last season, but the combination of him not being able to play in a 4-5-1, missing more than he scored, having the first touch of a rapist, falling out with Moyes at Wolves last season and being able to turn an easy profit on him meant he was moved on.

Still think we might have scored one or two more if we still had him though, like.
 
I saw some of Yakubu against Wigan. He played well as the lone striker in a 4-5-1 (go figure). I do miss having him in the Everton squad, but I do not miss having his wages on the books.
 
He's never a Prem player. And £4m was far to much to turn down for him. Thing is wee should have replaced him. And not some mad Argie Moyes spotted on Champ manager.
