Woolly Blue

Player Valuation: £80m
OK, I need one of these, both for the garden in what this country laughingly calls Summer, but, probably just as importantly, to take with us on our hols for however many weeks I can persuade her to go off sick for this Summer.

So, at the moment, I'm looking at the Kef Muo, which, at under a kilo, ticks all the boxes for taking abroad, but is like £250, which upsets me somewhat, and / or the Audio Addon T3, which is a fair bit chunkier than the Kef, but is also a fair bit cheaper.

To put stuff into context, I refuse to spend silly money on mobile phones, laptops, PC's, TV's, tablets and the like, but music is to be appreciated, so my hi-fi ( and it's defo mine, not hers ) is not something I skimp on.

So, does GOT have any recommendations, or even care ?

I'm also tempted by the idea of an internet radio for use outside at Woolly Mansions, but I'm really trying to resist that at the moment.

The basic rule with these is the more you spend the better you get mate.

Go mad. Get some Bose ones. You won't be disappointed.

The Bose portables are actually cheaper than the Kef mate. They do "home" ones as well which work of WiFi as well as bluetooth, which is a plus, but I'm not sure I'd actually use the Wi-Fi capability.

I will admit to being a Kef geek though. I had a pair bought for me for my 21st ( so they're just over 10 years old now ... 'ish ) which have been ace and are used in our living room, and I've got a pair of Kef R100 Speakers upstairs which are truly boss.

I like Bose stuff, but have a long held view ( probably wrongly ) that some of the cost involves style over quality, and, ultimately, I'm a tight arse,

Probably true with that last sentence. But you know me. Style wins out most times!

I don't know much about Kef stuff so maybe stick to what you know.

Bose Soundlink Mini. And TuneIn Radio for the Internet Radio bit.

I take it you have the Bose then mate ?

I've been reliably informed informed that these: https://minirigs.co.uk are the dogs danglers. @JordanianEmbassy is a fan.
Not cheap though...

Damn sight cheaper than the Kef mate, I'll take a look.

Cheers mate (y)

Just read up on these and they sound ace, so I've ordered one, via Amazon and Danny's link of course.
If they're sh, 1 t and e, then I shall hunt yourself and @JordanianEmbassy down and deal with you accordingly !

If it's as good as the reviews suggest, I'll order another and annoy the neighbours in stereo ;)

I'm doing my best to spend the kids inheritance before I peg it, so I might get one anyway !
We'll be island hopping for five or six weeks this summer though, and I'd feel a bit nervous about having £250's worth of speaker in the hands of Greek ferry crews !

I'm just having fun with you, TBH...I'm a bit surprised you're even looking at wireless though, considering you looked at KEF (I'm insinuating audiophile snobbery here..."wireless!! bah!"). Just get ya' some good headphones, then you can't hear the wife either. :p
