Winning mentality

kiss the crest

Player Valuation: £35m
As a club, it was as clear as day today that we lack a winning mentality, once we scored all the players went to the corner flag and celebrated for well over a minute because we equalized against a 10 man poor Tottenham team, can you imagine that lot across the park scoring then, they would have got the ball and planted it in the middle and be ready to go again to win the match.

Also Listening to Marco talking about VAR he basically said it is what it is, he should be coming out and fume with the officials like Klopp, Mourinho, can you imagine them just accepting that.

Stop bringing Liverpool into absolutely everything. To have a winning mentality you have to have a winning team.

We have crap players, a crap system of running a club, a crap manager, a crap coaching set up and a crap academy set up. We are getting precisely what we deserve.

Missed out the tea lady.

It is true that they have a winning mentality but they also have far superior players. You believe in yourself a lot more when you have the team they have. Our players were probably worried Spurs would go down the other end and land a sucker punch.

Expectation at Everton is low. Winning the odd home game is enough to keep you in a job. Last Christmas, some fans were told they were acting entitled just because they expected a bit more than a 6-1 drubbing at home to Spurs.

The reason I have brought that shower into it was because of yesterday 1-0 down with 3 minutes to go and they go onto win it, we celebrated like we won the FA cup.
Can you imagine Reid, Sharp Big Nev and Trevor Steven who was here today not wanting to go for the win

I was thinking exactly the same while watching those celebrations . Any team playing at home against 10 men should have been haring back to the centre circle with the ball trying to score again .

Why were Everton players comforting Son???
That shows the mentality of the squad right there.
Think Big Dunc or Tim Cahill might have give him more than a cuddle.

I believe that by appointing Brands that Mosh was trying to change things and the mentality of the club.

It doesn’t always happen overnight, especially if you dont bring the right manager in. Remember City with Mark Hughes?

the next managerial appointment has to be the right one, but it’s fine margins sometimes.

Yeah this. They’re the most successful club in the country, that definitely counts towards something when talking about winning mentality.

Good point...

However it was more relief & joy at not losing than going for the win the celebration in the corner....

We are not in a position ATM that can apply a winning mentality that comes with a run of successful wins & unbeaten runs...

We need to build our confidence to get good runs going & unbeaten stretches & late goals & remaining unbeaten will help do this, but we must remember we are a long way off top 6 ATM....

Take your points on Marco Silva though he should of been seething over not getting that penalty....

No matter what players/manager/style we have we always have the same outcome, failure!!

Moyes: continuity for 10/11 years! Failed
Martinez: modern manager passing style! Failed
Koeman: Winner in his playing days! Failed
Silva: Similar to Martinez in style got the best squad and funds available! Failing badly

When I say failed I mean no silverware because that’s all that matters.
