Windows 8

No idea sorry. The OS is dreadful. I can see how it is handy for someone using a tablet, or someone who only uses a handful of apps, but for the most part it's just dreadful

Sorted it mate, think I pressed a random keyboard shortcut by accident, sorted it out in chrome's settings though.

I don't mind windows 8 to be honest, from a post PC era perspective it's goal is to drive people on to mobile computing, and away from desktops onto touch screen devices.

It's working.

The old laptop (xp) has reached the bsod stage. Running in safe mode but I'm going to have to upgrade. Unlikely to be getting a touch screen, so what do you reckon, 7 or 8?

More than I was looking to spend tbh. My mother in law has a Nexus 10 with a blue tooth keyboard, and the portability is great but I would only really use a laptop around the house. It's mostly for work, just using office and some other bits of software as well as the internet. If I get a tablet I'll be fighting the kids to use it. Seeing as I'm not looking to get a touch screen, Windows 7 appears the better option.
