Wimbledon Men's Final 2012 - Murray vs Federer

Feel sorry for the lad,, played probably his best tennis ever today but was unlucky to come up against an inspired Federer who probably played the best he has played in a long time, no shame coming second to such a champion. Poor lad is the Ronaldo of the tennis World....in another era he would be the worlds best.

He plays some really good shots, but for me he is definately too moody, doesn't quite have iot mentally, tho he has been better this yr. Don't get all the haters and people who won't support him cos he's Scottish and not English. For me tho he still needs to step up his game to another level before he wins a Slam. He doesn't make his opponent work enough - too many balls down the middle, not in the corner, not enough variety, and it makes it easy for the top players to play their game. Also he shows flashes of brilliance, but it's too inconsistent, and he throws away points with poor shots and important times, especially today.

Having said that, glad it was Fed that beat him, great player, and some of the shots he played today were amazing (especially the fake drop shot and the shot he hit when he was running towards his backhand a cut across the ball with a forehand - genius.)

Nothing, and I mean nothing gets my prejudices going more than tennis. If there was ever a greater example of elitism and privilege well I have never seen it.

I can't stand the game and regularly tell all my tennis loving friends - I don't listen to the radio nor watch BBC throughout the "Wimbledon fortnight" - thank God it is over and I can go back to normality

None of these sports occupy the airwaves and dominate BBC output for 2 solid weeks as tennis does - it is this paradox that really gets me - an elitist sport that's supposedly universally popular for just two weeks - no-one gives a toss for the other 50 weeks a year!

Terrible first serve. Bad shot distribution. Loser's mentality (head went down halfway through second set FFS.

Also made it hard for himself with a lof of his serves games going to Deuce.

Federer was the better man and the better player. Well deserved win.

I'm a total layman with tennis, but this game I think could've really got me into the sport, thought it was a cracker.

Rooted for Federer, obv.
