William Carvalho

You could say the same for loads of players.

Seamus Coleman immediately springs to mind. ( I know he`s only 28 ).

Loads of reasons, famliy settled, kids settled and happy at school etc.

Sometimes a player and a club are the right fit for each other - Coleman and Everton being a prime example.
Never underestimate someone finding a sweet spot somewhere. Same with Pienaar.

As for Carvalho, wouldn’t we have heard more on this by now?

...Silva said as much at the beginning of the window. He said he wasn’t interested in anybody from the Portuguese league.

Mixed feelings on him from me anyway, he could do well over here, equally he could be absolute garbage, his pace and workrate would make me nervous he could adapt.

..I agree. His mobility is a concern, especially in a team that is sadly lacking in that area.

Tierney, Mina, this Algerian lad, Lozano all 4 would be very good signings - centre mid whilst a problem is behind cb, lb and left winger for me, by a country mile as well.

Just them 4 is enough. We can survive with the midfield we have till Jan/next season. I think Schneiderlin will be good this year.

Tend to agree, add in I expect Lookman, Vlasic, Baningame, Davies, Dowell, Kenny, Holgate to all improve and to feature more this season too.

Gives us Gueye, Schneiderlin, Davies, Baningame, Vlasic, Sigurdsson, Dowell and possibly McCarthy if fit - 8 players for three spots,

Not for me Centre mid is huge problem, we can’t keep the ball ir control games. CB, LB, CM in that order for me.

We can't keep the ball in large part to being massively one dimensional though mate, everything down the right - puts added pressure on everyone as it's easy to press and defend against. Imagine Tierney and Coleman at fullback with Lozano and Walcott ahead of them, that's gonna give a huge amount more options fir those centre miss and s lot more time too.

I don’t what you’ve been watching. But this is our worst midfield in years. I’d sell them all.
I would much rather give lookman a season than watch gana & Davies fir another season.

Spend the Lozano money on a midfielder.
