Do you think Drenthe will play versus Villa, or will Moyes give him a chance versus West Brom? (I hope v West Brom as im coming back for this game!):)

I don't know. I'm not sure if he's played much football lately so he may need a bit of training first. Maybe he'll be subbed on later.

Try the 89th at 0-1 down.

Let me guess.

Hibbert, Osman, Heitinga, Anichebe will all start??

oh FFS!!!!

Don't mind Osman to start and with our available RB options don't mind Hibbert on and Heitinga is nice if he'd ever play CB instead of DMF.. and I guess I can live with Anichebe starting on the right wing granted our options.

But really hope Drenthe gets to start.

Moyes rarely starts new recruits, they have to earn their spurs in training. Part of his philosophy. I agree with it, as it happens.

I think he will start on the left. Id like to think moyes will know of the protest before the game and the general unhappiness of our fanbase. If he doesnt want that negativity to continue when the game starts and thus affect the players, he has to give us something to get excited about. Drenthe has to start, even if he isnt exactly up to speed. The adrenalin of his debut for a new club should be enough to carry him through to the hour mark, and give fans something to get off their seats for.

I think Moyes will use him on the right and keep Osman in front of Baines on the left hand side, drenthe is more direct and would be better served playing in front of a defensive full-back, which both Hibbert and Neville are. I get the feeling he'll be used like Downing, Johnson and N'zogbia by Moyes.....I'm so excited we've finally got a proper winger ffs.

True, but we don't sign new #10's that often. Didn't Landycakes start in the first game after his signing?

Indeed, Sir Landon of Donovan ( *sniff*..never to be seen in the Royal Blue again, no doubt *sniff*) started against Arsenal and actually beat the first man with a corner right onto Osman's head to score! . So, ol' Moe Sizlack does play 'first timers' now and then. Landon must of looked good in training to gain a run out with the starting eleven. The only time I can think of him not starting was when we played Hull on his last day.
