Haven't done any local camping like that, but I spent about a years worth of summers up in Denali Park (Alaska) and did tons of "back country" hiking/camping, where you carry in all your provisions and carry out all your provisions and trash. It feels both exhilarating and precarious to be dependent solely on what you have on your back for a few days.

Anyone do a bit? I go hammock camping out in the countryside here quite often. Pile all my stuff on the bike, and away I go.

Just bought a British Army arctic sleeping bag, and a natty mattress to do a bit more over the winter months. Picked up a trailer as well for all the extra space needed.
