Width/Wingers

This is not just a over reaction from tonight's game (maybe a little). Said a few weeks back in the transfer forum that we need some wingers of better quality.

I don't know what koeman actually wants with his formation out wide. Looks like he wants the full backs pushing on. The wingers seem to be a mix of inside forwards/strikers playing out of position. Tonight we had two lads hugging the touchline that produced nothing.

Bolasie and Ademola are our only two wingers who are players who can hug the touchline and damage teams. Kev isn't good enough to play out there and maybe his best position is more central or the bench. DCL is a striker not a winger. If Gylfi comes in and plays wide then he will offer a slower dimension out there. Sandro has to play as a 9. Bolasie out for a few more months and people don't rate him. I do think he offers more than any other wide player we have.

I might be missing a few wingers off that list but if we don't sort it out we will be impotent going forward. Sort it Ronny lad.

Always thought Kev was better on the right. Inverted wingers need a different skill set.

But yeah we need a flyer on the right if Sig is going to play left.

Yup we do . Mirallas is crap. Bolasie injured . Lennon crap . Lookman the new Messi but needs time

Not good
Lookman doesn't really look like the winger we need at all either though, despite his promise.

He cuts inside too often which is exactly what Mirallas does for example...

We need Bolasie or someone like him imo

You could be right but I think Lookman will happily go outside and also in behind if he needs to opening up space for the central players and stretching defences

If you don't have pace in the middle, you need pace out wide (problem with the first half). It really shows you how valuable Coleman was to us. He is one of the few players in the league that can go full force on both sides of the ball and rarely get caught. It made it possible to play without a true winger on either side of the field. Now we are in a scenario where teams don't respect our width. They cheat inside and make it almost impossible to work the ball in the middle.
