Why won't my phone EVER pick up a 3g signal?

As far as I know it was on T-Mobile.

T mobile do use the 2100 band, but it's likely that the phone is locked to the 1700 frequency. You might be able to run a check online (HTC Website), to see what chip is inside the phone. If you're lucky you might find a software hack opens up the phone if the problem isn't a hardware limitation

I would ask a friend I could trust and who had the funds to withdraw 3000 pounds from their joint current account they have with their girlfriend/wife .... tey should then head to the highest spot in your immediate surroundings with a big yellow flag and see through carry bag attatched to the flag. Oce they are in place they need to wave the flag with the 3000 pounds inside the attatched see through bag whilst simultaneously texting you.....

3G signal my friend.

Now stop moaning and concentrate on the transfer window meltdown.

Phone could well of dropped/forgotten some of it's essential settings after a major update..*

My[cough]iPhone drops it's internet & related settings after an IOS update.

Take the SIM out and give the metal connections a rub with '0000' grade wire wool and a drop of petrol Then leave a drop of petrol on them and ignite with a lighter. That will stop the pesky 2g signal being picked up and give the 3G a chance.

If you have a steriliser, similar to that used for baby's bottles then half fill that with water and about 25ml of washing up liquid, put the sim on the top tier of the steriliser (not directly into the water) and switch the steriliser on. The heat and moisture from the steriliser will clean away the layer of dirt which is stopping the sim from picking up a 3G signal. The most important part is the rapid drying process though, as soon as the steriliser finishes it needs to be dried almost instantly, therefore whack this straight in the toaster (2 slice or 4 slice, doesn't make any difference), I'm almost certain that should solve your problem.

If it doesn't then maybe just stick some butter and jam on the sim and make a meal out of it
