Why the negativity?

After reading a fair few posts from various people being fairly negative about our performances, tactics etc in the past few games i'm just wondering why?

Not many seem to have have picked up on the fact that its the start of the season, and while we may not have set the world alight, we have won games! This must be our best start for some time now and if we can go on one of our ridiculous run of games later in the season having started of with a decent base then I don't see why Moyes cant pull of another quality season.

People complain about a small squad size which is justifiable, but its a squad good enough that a player of saha's quality doesn't merit a place.

I for one am pretty optimistic about this season, and cant wait to go watch us play wba on wed (where we will probably lose now ive said all this...)

Just my 2 cents anyhoo.

It's a good start mate, all things considered. If Liverpool do lose today then that leaves us 6th with a game in hand on all but one of those below us.

However we have a brutal fixture list coming up and our performances and tactics thus far don't inspire the kind of confidence you'd want going into those fixtures.

I think that Moyes sometimes sets the team up for 1 point rather than 3, and as a result comes away with 0 more often than need be. I feel that we have a squad, if used to its potential, that could be outside contenders for 5th spot. As RFUS says, we have some very difficult fixtures coming up, so i'd have been far happier if we hadn't dropped 3 points against QPR. As i type, the RS are losing to Spurs. It would be great if we could trash the RS in a few weeks time and show a statement of intent to finish above them for once and maybe do them out of an European spot. Another cause for negativity though is the worry that we may lose key players in the next window, e.g. Fellaini, Baines.....

Dont get me wrong i love a good moan! just have a misplaced sense of optimism when it comes to everton...

the fixture list is looking a bit grim, and yet they are the games we tend to play our best football in so you never know...

Dont get me wrong either, i fully understand the negativity towards the board, and us possibly failing to keep players but im thinking more just about the football side of things.

Some people will be overjoyed on the back of a win; others will be suicidal over the next defeat. We'll finish 7th/8th. Negative/positive shouldn't come into it. It's just an endurance test until something good happens to Everton when Kenwright and his controllers sell up and leave us in peace.

I dont get the 'excited'/'depressed' posts. None of it means anything. There's **** all at stake.

I didnt think the performance was that bad yesterday, we controlled the first half without having a real cutting edge mind, we have Barkley, Drenthe, Gueye and Vellios waiting to go, if Moyes is willing to drop Neville, then theres far more chance he will freshen things up than in the past.

Personally I'd like Jags dropped for Jonny, but I'm a sucker for players who can pass the ball more than 2 metres.

But that's the most depressing post I've ever read

You think a cup final, european places or a relegation fight are impossible, Dave? If so I can see why you think what you think, but I could see all three happening.

A cup final is beyond us, imo; a relegation fight - no chance; a EL spot is possible, but I wouldn't regard that as being a good thing with a squad situation like ours.

I cheer every goal and fume at any defeat... but support the boys in royal blue.

Even if Kenwright left that would be no different.

For me the issue is about long term sustainability / competitiveness and that ultimately would be helped by more infrastructure at the club to generate more money.

can't we just take it a game at a time? Moyes' record against the bigger clubs is improving...w are doing i would suggest better than we expected, so lets be positive about it...at least whilst we can enjoy it...!
