Why I cannot genuinely support the England Football team.

This maybe a totally unique thing for myself, and if so, Im sorry.
I just cant get into supporting the England Football team.

I have however, I think... thought of why this is...

Lineker.

Now you young lads maybe dont even realise he was once actually played for us.. He spunks over Spurs, Leicester Etc.. But he was once ours..

Banged them in all over the show.. " Its Lineker to chase.. just look at his pace ! "

Won all the acolades ( no trophies like ) and Howard loved him.

Then it was off to Mekkikko 1986..
Slotted everywhere.. Even with a broken hand.

Rumours spread.. He was offski... Howard was offski...
As a little lad, I couldnt get my head around why he would want to leave the Mighty Everton..
But, he went.. and I was gutted...

Howard got on the wrong plane and ended up in some other Spanish outfit..

We rose again and won the title... But deep down we all knew things had changed..

So, I associate supporting England with Everton becoming average..
History repeated when other players got capped, Barmby, Rooney, Lescott, Jeffers ( ? )..
I only hope Baines isnt next..

( its easy to blame the Coles, Terrys, Gerrards.. - Im blaming Gary !! )

I'm English

So I support England.

However, it would always be Everton over England if that choice was needed.

My dad was heartbroken, too.

I was born in 87 and he named me after Lineker. Couldn't quite let go.

i cannot be arsed with England either. As a kid, they just seemed like another London club. Nothing mattered, football wise, outside of Everton. Nothing has changed. England? Meh.

I can't support the England team as I don't like majority of the team and them putting on an England shirt doesn't change that.

Some Everton players are bad t^ts mate.

None of them are bigger t^ts than the likes of Gerrard, Terry and Cole. Just couldn't bring myself to celebrate or even be happy over a goal for England, unless it was scored by an Everton player and even then I wouldn't be that arsed.
