not a question you`d ever think of so i dunno why mate, always have and i dont know any different. if EFC went out of existence that`d be it, i couldnt feel anything for another club, its not like a woman love thing were your old lady dumps you and 5 minutes later you`re kicking her sisters back door in. its deeper than that love coz theres only one Everton. and Everton chile

From the US as well, so not born into anything. Didn't start watching footy consistently until '02. I watched a lot of games and really can't explain why I fell in love with Everton. Its only been 9 years but it feels like I was born into it. I'm saving up to make my first trip to Goodison this winter and I can't wait.

Me too, for the undersoil heating.

I'm what some of you guys would call a wool. My only association with the City of Liverpool was my fav pop band the Beatles.

I started to support Everton because I believed in 1969 that they would win the league (which we did) I began to read about them our wonderful contribution to football. I chose Everton. Or did they choose me?

I could have supported Chelsea. They were in London, a glamour club. No, not for me.

I could have supported Manure with the stories of Munich and Georgie Best. No, not for me.

I could have supported Leeds Utd, but they were always a snide, dirty bunch.

When I read that we were the first team to have undersoil heating (OK, laugh), that was it for me. I realised that we were more than just a football team; our name weaves through the fabric of footballs existence and development.

Despite everything, I love Everton Football Club to the bone.

First gen but we have to start somewhere. Family moved from the north of England to Scotland in 1975, had me a year later and as a cricket rugby family i found myself amid a strange world of football full of hate and anger. As someone who believed strongly in sportsmanship i found myself falling in love with Everton around 11 years old, my local team is St.Johnstone who are also blue (wonder if theres a theme going on there) and a little ****, so Everton matured with me over the years and our relationship grew into what it is now, firmly under the thumb. The pivotal moment was playing Newcastle at st.james' park we lost 4 - 2 i think. Having been taken to the match by a newcastle supporter i ended up being the solitary Everton supporter in amongst all the toon mentalists. Cheered my a$$ off, got stared down and abused. Never felt so proud in my puff!

On that note lost sheep will always become wools!

I had no choice.

I was born in the early sixties so it was the era of the Holy Trinity of Kendall, Ball & Harvey.
Everyone else supported Man U, Liverpool, Preston or Bolton, but I was the awkward bugger who had to be different !

I didn't get to Goodison until I was 18 when I had to choose which uni to go to. There was only ever going to be one choice !

I was about 4 at the time and my grandad took me to Anfield, i can remember it being the first time i had been surrounded by thousands of people in one place and also remember how quiet it was considering the amount of people there and how Liverpool were winning. When i got home and my dad got in from work he asked me what i'd done that day and i told him i went to watch Liverpool, he didn't reply and went into a mood, as i laid in bed that night i heard him having a row with my mum over the fact that her dad had took me to watch 'the red ****e'.

The weekend after, my dad took a day off work to take me on a day out, we went into the Everton shop near Goodison and he showed me Alan Ball's white boots and all the other memorabilia and history on display, I didn't understand half the stuff he was telling me about but i could see how passionate he was about the team and i was buzzing with excitement to see the blue men in action. As we left the shop i can remember seeing a wave of blue shirts coming from all directions, we went into the stadium and found our seats. A song came on and everybody around me stood up to cheer and applaud the men in the blue shirts coming out the tunnel, i can remember how it didn't really go quiet at all even when Everton went 1-0 down the fans seemed to get louder and more excited, we lost, nobody seemed that bothered and i met Joe Royle and got my picture taken with him after the game. The week after, i got my first Everton Kit and my bedroom decorated in blue and white with crests all over, i wore my Everton kit to go to my grandads house that weekend, i told him i don't want to be a red ****e before getting a smacked arse off me ma for swearing, when i got home i spoke to me dad and told him what i said, he burst out laughing and said is right lad.

I've been going the game ever since and wouldn't change a thing.
