That's why if you have one from another member state you would retain your EU citizenship.

No there isn't a generic EU one but if you look at the front of your current one it has European Union at the top. That presumably won't be there post-Brexit.

So we can't retain EU citizenship if we are stuck with just a UK passport. As I thought. Back to plan B

One day, we will wake up and the Brexit vote will have been a dream, probably after too much cheese.

You can. It is called dual citizenship so you are entitled to as you were born there. So essentially you can hold an Irish one and a British one and not give either up.
