why did we sign andy johnson?

Miss him and would happily have him back. Great hard worker. The diving comments by Wenger ruined him though. That and chasing flags. Solid blue, good business for us, will always be fondly remembered by me.

Not suited to a lone striker setup though. Kind of a poor mans Defoe.
 

Arsene Whinger and his comments ( how come he never sees anything, but always saw a Johnson "dive" ) must have affected him. I was made up when he scored that last-seconds winner against them. Whingers face was priceless

I agree. We have never seemed to do as well with him in the team. As much as I love Timmy, we have never been as good with him in team. Like last season when we had Ossie, Bill and Magaye in the three attacking midfield positions was when we looked best. We were fluid. All could interchange etc. As for the comments about AJ, I think that they are totally unjustified. He was excellent for us. Worked damn hard, ran the channels and scored goals. We have had far far worse strikers deserving of criticism than AJ.
