So what's the problem with the Welsh language, Kurt? Is it not being taught to children in schools from a young age?No mate, it’s only 6%, the numbers must be different in Welsh

Go back to the 50’s and 60’s (think that era is correct) and you would get punished in school for speaking Welsh. There was a thing called a Welsh knot which was used for striking children with if they spoke Welsh. This almost killed the language I believe. So what's the problem with the Welsh language, Kurt? During my school years we were taught Welsh, but only as a second language unless you went to a Welsh school. The language is now having a resurgence amongst younger people who are taught to Be proud of their language and are encouraged to use it more. Personally I think this is a good thing, it’s the native tongue of Britain and it would be a huge shame if it were lost forever.
I honestly believe we should have a Welsh language thread on here, a place where we talk to each other in English most of the time, but immediately turn to Welsh when you turn up in it![]()
So, Why are the Welsh people so strange ?
Did we eventually come to a conclusion..
Love the Welsh language me, even though Im English, proud that my two daughters speak it. Think there is a push to get more to speak it, esp in South Wales, hope there is tbh.Go back to the 50’s and 60’s (think that era is correct) and you would get punished in school for speaking Welsh.
