I can recommend - the Maazzi Indian restaurant in Matlock too, food is spot on. There's a pub in Matlock Bath that has a midweek comedy store, can't remember its name but they have some really good up and comers on who are doing the rounds trying to make the big time .

Head to Matlock Bath. Pubs are better and quite bohemian for Derbyshire. You can walk to it from Matlock, just over the big bridge that goes over the river.

Some fella who works where I work, the caretaker he is, literally never met him in my life but the other day I was on my break and he just started going on and about his boxer dog and how great it is. Genuinely the most boring, one way conversation ever.
