As always nothing is 100% perfect or secure as human nature always has a part to play

sure nothing is 100%.

But fourteen years on macs now.

Not once had a virus, malware or a security breach - and I don't run anti virus software.

It isn't about ubiquity of market, 16% market share in the US (and if that isnt a substantial enough market of people doing internet banking, credit card details etc) according to recent reports. It's just a safer platform. Things change and that may not always be the case, but for now its a reality.

Barring the thing above which sounds like it works by getting the user to download and install it. No computer is safe if an idiot is controlling it.

Had a PC since... oohhh... 1995. Had one significant virus in all that time.

Fiance has had around thirty.

So it's not the platform that you have to look at, it's the user.

If your fiance had a mac she wouldnt have had a virus. So that is another side of the argument. Computers are designed to be user friendly. If your fiance is getting bad functionality due to viruses then its the designed systems fault.

There haven't been any mac viruses out in the wild. At least I can't find any beyond scare reports. Otherwise mac users would run anti virus software - they dont have to.

It's one of the reasons that people who dont know what they are doing should really get on macs.

Actually the first ever Mac infecting virus/malware was discovered in 2006.

OSX/Leap-A worm

Don't be sucking no Macs without protection lid.

It's PC's what need protection mate.

I got Spanish Gonorrohea of a PC keyboard once. The DOS gave me herpes.

I wont even mention my windows laptop although I should've known from the name: the DELL Chlamydia.

I'm always on porn so no matter what I use, it's gonna get messed up. My lap top is soooo slow right now. But once I'm on a video I can still stream that Teagan Presley fine so :)
