is the biggest nerd genius on here, got problem with Wii. cannot connect to internet.:(
would really appreciate some advice, as long as its not "buy a PS3/Xbox).

cheers (y)

I doubt this will help, as it could be all sorts of things, but I simply had to create a new internet account in the menu thing. Sounds very simple, but it was trying to connect to the persons internet connection who had it before me?

p.s. when you get it, download the iPlayer

I cancelled my xbox live account about 10 months ago, am I safe???

I used my mates account to play no.1 evertonian and beat him 3-2. I had to score two own goals just so he wouldn't quit.

Not that I'm a nerd, more a geek if you don't mind.

Not sure I can help you but what equipment are you using?

Are you trying to connect a laptop or computer to the Internet?

What Wi Fi equipment are you using? Are you sure it is compatible with your Internet Provider? E.G. BT & Virgin use different wi fi equipment. Get that wrong and you're going nowhere.

This information might give me and others a clue.

More importantly, from your point of view why can't you connect i.e. where did you get to before it all fell down?

Hope that helps as a starting point to solve your question.

What happens why you try to setup a connection? I presume you are using the wireless router you use for your PC? It should be straightforward if you are.

trying to use a router. but had the Wii chipped a while back, which was a failure as the person used a program instead of a chip . now we cant use some legit games either.

It's probably going to a big problem then if it is chipped because you can't download the updates and stuff which would sort this out.

What exactly are you doing and what happens?

The first thing I'm told about PC problems is "check that you've turned the plug on". In this context it would mean;

(1) Double check yyou've set up the wires as instructed.
(2) I assume that you are trying to connect a laptop as you've not said. I'm assuming that the laptop is wireless enabled that the router / wi fi is OK, have you checked that the password for the wi fi is exactly the same as for the laptop?
(3) Have you checked that you've set the same security setting on both?

If you are setting up security NEVER, EVER use any WEP settings, its how Google / Apple "obtain" their wi fi data.

Hope that helps.

Have you used sawdust mate? Try it.

I just got off the X-Box network playing no.1_evertonian on FIFA, who I was thrashing 3-0 until he quit in the 17th minute.

How frustrating?

try digital kaos or afterdawn website they are normally ok with this sort of stuff. the first one looks the better bet
