I think buying Yarmalenko and sticking him on the left wing for 80% of the game is a proper waste of a player. Be like asking Rom to play CAM for 70 minutes. You buy a Yarmalenko so he can come in off the right and smash some screamers in not to just cross a ball every half hour.

A fair point mate, he is much better from every game i've seen when on the right as well, which right now seems a lock for Deulofeu, so it's become a deal that would have you scratching your head a bit about how we plan to set up and who plays were etc...

Deulofeu's emergence as a top quality player who starts every game does make me wonder a bit IF we will re-evaluate what we need too mate, Can't see Yarmolenko starting anywhere else than on the right as he is that good, but also can't see anyone displacing Deulofeu from that spot now either... Guess we will see in time what happens - makes me wodner just how much Martinez has been taken aback by how fast deulofeu has come on this season though

Dream for next season? Yarmalenko on the right, move Del to number 10, drop Barkley back, purchase a new left winger or give Mirallas more minutes.

Dowell. Eventually, hopefully..
Agree with all 3 words. Dowell looked very promising in pre season, his recent injury set him back a wee bit, he's only 18 and short of experience outside Everton. So he may be 15 months and a loan away from challenging for a first team spot, with maybe some squad appearances later in season. His problem is he is competing against 6 or 7 international players in that position to start. The likes of Galloway and Browning got their chances as injury cover, Dowell unlikely to get such a chance so will have to force his way into the reckoning by superior performances. Even in a year when he's 19 our front four with him in it would be remarkably young with Rom, Geri & Ross.
The other issue is Roberto's conservative selections on the bench,in the last two matches its looked like Dad's Army on the bench, with not a youngster in sight - although in fairness injuries, loans and a full u21 programme have mitigated that. But if we are ever going to fill this position from within players like Dowell and maybe Henen if he continues to improve, will need to get exposure to the squad later in the season.

Would rather have Deulofeu than Yarmolenko on the right. no question.

If Swansea continue to play poorly then I'd like Sigurdsson for that left hand side. Great player.

Sign Yarmolenko for the left then really is the answer mate, naturally left footed anyway and with our system the left winger plays most of the time almost centrally anyway, also means we can mix it up through a game with him and Deulofeu swapping over at times, Del gets a knock or is subbed then yarmolenko swaps to the right allowing kone to come on etc, actually opens up some very tasty tactical options

One thing is almost certain, if we could sign him we'd have an absolutely outstanding front 4 who all have a ton of goals in them (Lukaku, Deulofeu, Barkley, Yarmolenko)

.... wetting myself at the prospect. I'd stick with Mirallas as I feel that he has previously demonstrated he can play the '9' role too.

Why not from January ?

Kone at home until his form dips, then Mirallas.

Mirallas away at grounds when we should take all 3 points, Cleverly when we need more of a defensive shift.
