If everyone hates it so much, why don't all the fans protest against it like they did for the Super League nonsense.

Because for every team that gets a bad decision against them, there`s another team that`s getting a great decision for them. Its a bit like playing the lotto, you could win really really big, but in general you lose almost every time, but there`s a chance if it goes your way you could get the big win.

Until the beloved 6 drop out of the top 10 for years on end, the protection and narrative won’t change. VAR won’t favour us. That’s why we have to get up and stay ahead so it won’t be a factor.

I doubt you'll see anything remotely controversial concerning VAR for this match. It's a game not involving one of the PL's favoured clubs, with no real stakes involved.
