I can see a midfield of the following

Guns , Big guns , really big guns.

We've got the M16 in the hole. Wasn't very reliable early in its career but it has matured well.

There's the Beretta M9 on the wings. Doesn't pack a lot of punch but it's an absolute assist machine.

And the M26 shotgun at DM. Great distribution, I tell you what.

I also think that Klinsmann's mind is made up, maybe even long ago, on much of the roster. His tinkering with the roster in friendlies may be a foil to keep back speculation on some ends (esp. Donovan). Surely there are some late changes, but looking back I think we may see these selections to fit the larger narrative pretty well.

Nevertheless, the potential for a WC-meltfest seems as high as possible.

This is starting to look like the the Steve Sampson team all over again.

We still have Jozy Altidore though.
